
The Northern Virginia Royals and Northern Virginia Majestics Super Y-League teams finished the first day of competition in the 2008 season without registering a single loss. Together, the Royals and Majestics combined for six wins and three ties to end the day of play against the Triangle Football Club Super Y-League teams.
At the younger age group, the U13 Super Y-League Majestics began their 2008 campaign with a 8-1 thumping of visiting Triangle. Four goals from midfielder Autumn Berry capped the Majestics offensive performance on a day that featured control and composure throughout most of the match.
The U13 Royals fought back from 1-0 deficit to equalize in the final four minutes, earning the boys the hard-fought draw. 2007 North American Championship Runners-Up U15 Royals remained tied 1-1 throughout most of their match, only to storm back in the final 15 minutes with three goals for the 4-1 win.
The Royals and Majestics finished the weekend with a combined Super Y-League tally of 6-0-3, scoring a total of 26 goals and allowing only 7 against.
