United Soccer Leagues released today both the U15 Boys and U16 Girls All-Tournament Teams following the 11th Annual Super Y-League North American Finals, hosted at Ed Radice Soccer Complex in northwest Tampa, Florida from Friday, November 20-24. Northern Virginia Royal Aaron Etienne and Northern Virginia Majestic Dominique Evans each grabbed spots on their respective lists for their performance over the five-day tournament.
Royal U15 midfielder Etienne, who also plays for the NVSC Jr. Royals 92, anchored a Northern Virginia side that finished the tournament at 1-1-2. Etienne’s top performances came in a 3-2 victory over Ironbound SC (New Jersey) and a 3-3 draw with the Cape Cod Crusaders (Massachusetts). In addition to votes from these clubs, Etienne garnered a third nomination following an early scoreless draw with eventual semifinalist Westchester Flames (New York).
Northern Virginia Majestics U16 forward Evans was one of only four players to earn three votes at the North American Finals. The others were forwards Shelby Beck (Surrey WFC), defender Nicole Smith (Quickstrike SC), and defender Taryn Hatcher (South Jersey Banshees). Evans received votes from opposing coaches representing the Boston Renegades, Surrey WFC (British Columbia), and Blackwatch SC (Rhode Island).
Quickstrike SC (New York) had the only player in the U16 girls age group to earn four votes in forward Kristina Maksuti.
