Majestics Drubbed by Renegades
Boston's Pistorius Nets Four Goals
The Northern Virginia Majestics (0-1-0) dropped their season opener on the road, falling victim to a relentless Boston Renegade side. Reigning Honda National Player of the Year Ashlee Pistorius lead the Boston Renegades with four goals Saturday night as the home side romped to a 7-1 victory over the visiting Majestics.

A second half hat-trick from the former Texas A&M University striker helped guide Boston to their first three points of the season.

It was Renegades captain Lauren MacIver who got the ball rolling with an opening goal in the 14th minute of play, finding herself with space inside the penalty box and tucking the ball past Majestic keeper Kerri Butler.   Pistrious doubled the Renegades advantage in the 23rd minute before midfielder MacIver looked to have wrapped up the contest with her second strike of the afternoon four minutes later.

The Majestics were given a glimmer of hope in the 36th minute when Jessie Deegan pulled a goal back. With a free kick awarded, Deegan bent her shot at the right post and just off the fingertips of diving Boston goalkeeper Meghann Burke.

However, a Northern Virginia comeback was not to be as Pistorius took over after the interval. The forward netted in the 47th, 49th and the 68th minute which, sandwich around a Gabriela Demoner counter, gave the Renegades a resounding 7-1 victory.

Following an off week, the Majestics return the road to face a tough Long Island Rough Riders on Saturday, May 31st. The following day the Majestics face the New Jersey Wildcats to complete the early season road trip.
