United Soccer Leagues announced today the W-League Team of the Week for the seventh week of the USL season, honoring the top players for their performance in the prior seven days of play. Northern Virginia Majestic Stephanie Hyltonwas named to the eleven-member team for her outstanding play in helping the Majestics earn their first win of the season, a 2-1 decision over the Richmond Kickers Destiny.

 

The Northern Virginia defender Hylton helped the Majestics to their first win of the season, a 2-1 victory over Richmond on Sunday.  Hylton provided a much needed spark to a Majestics team that found themselves trailing in the second half and the season-opening scoreless streak having surpassed 330 minutes.  Hylton, who had entered the match in the 30th minute, stepped up to blasted home the free kick that levelled the score in the 61st. 

"Stephanie hit a beautiful free kick from 40 yards out and almost scored off a full volley later in the match," said Northern Virginia Head Coach, Jac Cicala.
